This policy explains how Sear & Co. Pty Ltd (ABN 67 700 996 827), trading as SEAR (“we”, “us”), collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information through our website at eatsear.com.au, the SEAR mobile app and our restaurants. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Information we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name and email address when you sign up for opening news or contact us.
- App account details, such as your name, email address, mobile number and date of birth if you choose to provide it for birthday rewards.
- Loyalty and order information, such as points earned and redeemed, purchase history and preferred items.
- Technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version and basic usage and crash data used to keep the website and app working properly.
We do not collect payment card numbers. Card payments are processed by our payment providers under their own security standards.
How we use it
- To send you the updates you asked for, such as opening news.
- To run your app account and loyalty points.
- To respond to enquiries and provide customer support.
- To understand what customers order so we can improve our menu and service.
- To send offers and news, if you have agreed to receive them. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe.
- To meet our legal obligations and protect against fraud or misuse.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run SEAR, such as hosting, database, email, payment and point-of-sale providers, and only as needed to provide their services. Some of these providers may store information outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it to a standard consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. We may also disclose information where required by law.
How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections, access controls and limiting access to staff who need it. We keep information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law.
Your choices and rights
- You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email.
- You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you.
- You can delete your SEAR app account from within the app, or by emailing us. When you do, we delete your account information unless we must keep some of it by law.
Children
The SEAR app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
